Cast - Norridge Facility is Hiring a CNC Programmer Near Norridge, IL

Description

Cast Products, Inc., a progressive manufacturer of zinc die castings seeks a skilled CNC Programmer to join its manufacturing team.

Applicants must demonstrate: the ability to trouble shoot, basic math, reading, writing, blue print reading, comprehension skills and computer proficiency. Experience on HAAS CNC’s, hard cutting and high speed machining is a plus!

Major responsibilities include:

  • Being Accountable for programming, operation and maintenance of CNC machine.
  • Conduct planning sessions and work closely with Tool Designer-CAD/CAM
  • Follow work instructions and program list provided by Tool Designer-CAD/CAM
  • Program general CNC routines and patterns at the machine.
  • Program cutter paths using MasterCam Software.
  • Perform indicated CNC machine set-ups.
  • Oversee all aspects of CNC machine operation.
  • Work closely with appropriate personnel in the development and execution of prototype samples.
  • Oversee CNC cutter inventory and notify supervisor when replacement tooling is needed.
  • Perform maintenance of CNC
  • Make arrangements for servicing of CNC machine if needed.
  • Accountable for troubleshooting.
  • Maintain record of hours worked and enter into computer at the end of shift, daily.
  • Stop a job when a non-conformance is found and consult with Tool Designer-CAD/CAM
  • Wear assigned PPE.
  • Cleanup work area at the end of each shift.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Tool Room Foreman.
  • Follow CPI rules and regulations regarding safety, discipline, cooperation and teamwork.

Requirements

The independent, self starter we seek will have:

  • Strong working knowledge of Solidworks, Mastercam and/or Cimatron or similar CAD/CAM engineering applications (programming language and techniques).
  • Electrode Programming.
  • Three years experience setting up CNC machines for milling, and/or closely related industry.
  • Adept at working in a dynamic environment where programs, setups and tooling are constantly changing and interact effectively with employees and management as priorities shift.

Salary info:

$20 - $24 / hr
